Of these, more than 100 are available for adoption, yet they remain in the system, waiting for their forever homes. The heartbreaking reality is that 89% of these children are placed outside their home county, with over half residing more than 100 miles away from their familiar surroundings.This geographical displacement takes a significant toll on the children's well-being. "Not only does that child lose the family they were part of, but they also don't have access to a familiar teacher or supportive coach," explains Shauna Todd, the Director of the Attic Foster Network. "When you're removed from everything that is familiar to you, it really creates a disruption in that sense of belonging. Not even being in a city that they recognize can also be traumatic."

"We run on a beautiful route though Old Midland, and it's a family fun run, so people are dressed up like superheroes and out there having a great time." The event not only brings the community together but also serves as a crucial fundraiser for the Attic Foster Network, enabling them to continue their vital work.The SuperHero Run has gained significant traction over the years, with the turnout increasing annually.
